Interpersonal

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) is a short-term form of psychotherapy that focuses on the identification and exploration of interpersonal relationship issues. By helping the client to gain a better insight into how their life history has impacted their current relationships, IPT works to target problem areas and offer solutions to help rectify them.

Unlike transpersonal psychology, which looks at states in which individuals may experience a deeper sense of self or increased interconnectedness with others, nature, or spirituality, IPT remains focused on interpersonal relationships. It can even take specific forms such as Imago therapy, which concentrates particularly on intimate connections within the patient's life.
