Mindfulness-Based (MBCT)

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) provides a two-part approach that helps clients manage their chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and other health issues such as anxiety and depression. This evidence-based practice blends cognitive therapy and mindfulness techniques to help patients cope with challenges in life. Through mindfulness techniques, clients are able to pay close attention to their feelings without passing judgment and reach an objective state of mind. Doing this allows them the opportunity to view difficult situations from a different perspective, thus providing them greater freedom in responding by choice. MBCT has been proven to reduce stress and effectively manage physical and emotional pain for individuals who suffer from various health conditions.
